Leben holen
heißt Liebe schenken
About us
In 2017, we both came to Tanzania for the first time as volunteers, independently of each other, to work in Iringa (Conny) and
Arusha (Inga) to gain experience in the Tanzanian healthcare system.
6 years later, we decided to found the non-profit organization "Midwives 4 Tanzania e.V." to improve medical care for pregnant women, women in labor and young mothers.
We both share not only the profession of midwifery, but also the fascination for Tanzania and the motivation to provide the best possible care for women during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
For us, midwifery is not just a profession, but a vocation.
Conny
Was born and raised in Düsseldorf and studied midwifery (B.S.C) in Bochum until 2015 after graduating from high school.
Afterwards she worked in a university clinic and started self-employment at the same time.
After working exclusively as a self-employed in 2017, she traveled to Tanzania for the first time to work in a small clinic there. She fell in love with the country (and with a man) and kept coming back to Tanzania.
She had her first daughter in 2019, followed by her second in 2023.
Conny loves her job, being a mom and traveling.
Inga
born and raised near Frankfurt am Main, first trained as a healthcare and pediatric nurse after graduating from high school and came to Tanzania for the first time after graduating in 2017 to work in a clinic and an orphanage.
After completing her bachelor's degree in midwifery in 2022, she started working as a clinical and self-employed midwife. In 2023, she moved back to Tanzania to work in obstetrics at a clinic in Iringa. She loves traveling, getting to know foreign cultures and is a midwife with all her heart.
Ein großes Dankeschön geht ebenfalls an unsere Gründungsmitglieder: Elisabeth, Heinrich, Irmgard, Rudolf und Thorben.
Danke, dass Ihr von Anfang an an unsere Idee geglaubt habt!
In Tanzania
Timo
Although he is not a midwife, he is our "support person" on site in Iringa. When Conny and Inga are in Germany, he is the first point of contact for things that need to be arranged locally in Tanzania.
