The Idea

Background

Pregnancy and the birth of a child is a major change in a woman's life and unfortunately many Tanzanian women associate this experience with fear and unpleasant experiences, as well as loss and grief.

2,262,000 children are born in Tanzania every year

In comparison, there are 773,144 children are in Germany born per year.

1,9% aller jährlich geborenen Kinder in Tansania sterben, das ist jedes 53. Kind

Unfortunately, Tanzania
is one of the 10 countries with the highest neonatal mortality rate in the world.
Around 43,000 newborns died in 2020.

Maternal mortality in Tanzania

In Zusammenhang mit Schwangerschaft, Geburt und Wochenbett starben 2020 rund 5.400 Frauen. Das sind 238 Mütter pro 100.000 Lebendgeburten

Due to a lack of documentation and reporting, it must be assumed that the number of unreported cases is high. From our own experience during our work in the clinic in Tanzania, we know that the number of cases must be higher.

Our aims

To enable pregnant women, expectant mothers and their families to have an anxiety-free birth experience.
Reduce maternal and neonatal mortality associated with pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium.
